Recap on the Lumene headquarters and R&D lab Visit

Last Thursday, April 16, 2025, the French-Finnish Chamber of Commerce offered its members an exclusive opportunity to visit the headquarters and R&D laboratory of Lumene Group, Finland’s leading cosmetics brand.

After an insightful introduction by Alain Mavon, Vice President of R&D and Sustainability, the group was guided through the product development process, exploring everything from laboratory research to the production line.

Certified as a B-Corp, Lumene is a prime example of a company dedicated to environmental protection and biodiversity preservation. Its commitment to sustainability is reflected in responsible sourcing, innovative production methods, and the use of eco-friendly packaging.

As Lumene is expanding in many countries, the group offers an increasingly diversified range of products, meeting various customer demands. Its only factory, which we had the opportunity to visit, is located in Espoo. Lumene, the number one cosmetics brand in Finland, manufactures locally using mainly ingredients that are widely found in the country. Its flagship ingredient? Forest berries!

Inside the laboratory, we observed the stages of product development, from the analysis of raw ingredients to final packaging. It is worth noting that the brand aims to increase its circularity to 70% by 2030.
