On the 26th of September 2024, the French-Finnish Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Energiateollisuus (Finnish Energy), launched the first episode of our exciting new conference series on the future of energy: Decarbonize Heat and Electricity. The event took place at Energiateollisuus in Helsinki and brought together over 40 participants eager to explore strategies and innovations driving Finland's journey toward carbon neutrality by 2035.

Highlights from the Conference:

The afternoon began with welcoming remarks from representatives of the French Embassy in Finland and Jukka Leskelä, Managing Director at Energiateollisuus, who set the stage for an engaging and insightful discussion.

Roundtable 1: How to Decarbonize Heat?
Moderated by Janne Kerttula (Energiateollisuus), this session featured prominent speakers such as Antti Lilleberg (Meriaura Energy), Kimmo Malin (Helen), Lauri Muranen (Steady Energy), and Sirpa Ikola (Schneider Electric). They shared their expertise on decarbonizing heat, emphasizing the importance of innovation, collaboration, and investment in sustainable technologies.

Roundtable 2: How to Increase Investment in Clean Electricity?
Led by Annina Alasaari (Energiateollisuus), the second roundtable delved into the strategies for driving investment in clean electricity. Esteemed panelists included Aleksi Nordlund (Taaleri Energia), Markku Ylönen (Polar Night Energy), Eero Auranne (eNordic), Laurent Leveugle (Fortum), and Mikko Heikkilä (Fingrid). Their insights sparked thought-provoking discussions on the future of energy investments.

The event concluded with closing remarks from the French-Finnish Chamber of Commerce, summarizing the key takeaways and offering a preview of upcoming events in this series.
